WHOLE SCHOOL REFLECTION
Hello and officially welcome back to the new school year! It has been so wonderful seeing everyone and hearing all about their holiday adventures. On Wednesday we welcomed back our Prep – Grade 6 students and I was so impressed with how settled and ready for learning they all were. Yesterday some very excited Kinder White students had a lovely introduction to school life and have settled into LPS beautifully. We look forward to meeting our Kinder Blue Class on Tuesday.
Each year we run an informal information night and Welcome BBQ. This year it will be held on Wednesday 22 February 2023.
All our classroom teachers will be in classrooms from 3:30-4:30 pm and they will provide an opportunity for you to informally chat with them and talk about classroom routines, See Saw and other relevant class programs, experiences and expectations. Our students are also looking forward to leading you in a tour of their rooms and teachers have been busy creating some fun, interactive activities for you to participate in.
After this, our Leadership Team will be cooking a complimentary BBQ for all families in the outdoor area adjacent to the Kitchen Garden classroom. We hope this will be a time when teachers, parents and students can mingle and enjoy conversation over a sausage! This BBQ is a wonderful opportunity to get to know all our families and interact outside the business of drop-off and pick-up times. We hope to see you there in week 3.
As always we also encourage all families to connect with classroom teachers via Seesaw to find out what is happening in the classroom. All teaching staff also have a Department of Education Children and Young People email address which can be used for communication about individual students. To access whole school news please connect via Schoolzine. This year our newsletter will be posted to Schoolzine fortnightly on Fridays. Our first assembly will be held in the GP Hall on Friday 24 February and it will be a celebration of our newly elected Student Representative Council. Assemblies will occur monthly.
We are looking forward to a productive year this year. Our School Association is looking for new members so if you would like to find out more about joining please inquire at the office.
