WHOLE SCHOOL REFLECTION

Term 2 is always a busy term, and this year is no exception! Last week marked the beginning of Winter and the colder months which also means there are more colds and flus lurking around. Please be mindful of this and if your child has any cold or flu like symptoms, please keep them home until they are well. Winter also marks the start of our Grade 5/6 Winter Roster for netball and football. So far, students have participated in three rounds and have shown our values of courage, growth, aspiration, and respect. Well done teams!

As a school, we recently participated in National Simultaneous Storytime, where students read the story The Speedy Sloth and engaged in follow up activities with some on display in classrooms and in our library. This was also the first time where our Library Legends performed some official duties by assisting our younger students to complete sloth masks and colouring ins (to name a few activities)! A big thank you to these Library Legends for their work in this space.

Our students thoroughly enjoy participating not only in their music lessons but also in the array of musical sessions we have available for them to do, including the choirs which I am very fortunate to be a part of this year. This term, Miss Taylor organised for Jon Madin to come along and engage our Grade 4 to 6 students in Marimbas and Wacky Instrument Workshops which they then had the opportunity to share with the rest of the school in an afternoon performance. It was wonderful to see all students participating.

Term 2 is also when our teachers spend time looking through the evidence they have been collecting and moderating together to assess students against the 9-Point Scale for reporting. Families will receive student reports on Friday 16 June and Parent and Teacher Conferences will take place in the week beginning Monday 19 June. Parents can book online for these sessions and information about this has been recently sent home.

We hope that everyone stays safe and warm, and we can’t wait to see the amazing learning from our students over the coming weeks!
