WHOLE SCHOOL REFLECTION

As we approach the end of Term 2, we would like to take a moment to reflect on what has been a bustling and rewarding term, filled with opportunities for growth and engagement.

We would like to acknowledge our Grade 5/6 students who recently completed their winter sports roster for netball and AFL football. Throughout the season, our teams demonstrated commendable sportsmanship and commitment, representing our school with pride. Their dedication and positive attitude were evident both on and off the field.

More sporting enthusiasm was displayed by our Grade 3-6 students during the interschool cross country event at Bayview Secondary College. We were impressed by their resilience and the support they showed to their fellow participants.

The Student Representative Council (SRC) played an active role in fostering a sense of community and social responsibility this term. They organized a successful free dress day where students dressed up as their desired future occupations. This event sparked some wonderful conversations about their future aspirations. The free dress day served as a fundraiser for Tassie Mums, a charity that supports Tasmanian families through their Coats for Kids initiative, we raised $376.80.

The SRC also arranged a lunchtime Talent Quest over four Fridays, where students showcased their talents in a range of performing arts areas. This event provided a platform for them to express themselves and share their unique skills, fostering a sense of confidence and creativity within our school community.

In terms of safety education, our students had the opportunity to participate in the RACT Road Safety Awareness program led by Hayley from the RACT. They received important lessons and knowledge about road safety, essential for their well-being. We encourage you to engage your children in conversations about their learning in this area.

We would also like to express our thanks to parents who participated in our recent parent-teacher interviews. These meetings provided a valuable opportunity for teachers to share student progress and discuss areas for improvement. We value the partnership between home and school, and we encourage all parents to reach out to teachers via Seesaw to arrange meetings or discuss their child's progress whenever needed.

Our courtyard space has also been enhanced with the installation of four large, permanent all weather umbrellas. These additions provide our students with dry and shaded spaces, ensuring their comfort and sun safety during outdoor activities.

As we conclude Term 2, we extend our thanks for your ongoing support and involvement in our school community. We wish you all a safe, happy and adventurous holiday break, and look forward to an exciting and fulfilling Term 3 beginning on Tuesday, 25 July.
