WHOLE SCHOOL REFLECTION

From Mr Hickey’s countdown at 38 in the last newsletter, at the time of writing this we are now down to 23 days.  As I cast my eye over our school calendar we head into December, it is absolutely jam packed!  We sure are moving into the ‘silly’ season, where time just starts flying and before we know it Christmas has arrived.  There are many class excursions, sporting events and end of year celebrations coming our way.  Please make sure you keep in touch with our school’s methods of communicating with families at this busy time to stay in the loop of all the important dates relevant to your children, whether that be through Schoolzine, Seesaw or our school Facebook page.  The leadership team and classroom teachers have given the message to our students that our ‘Be Your Best’ and behaviour expectations remain high until the very last day of the school year to ensure that all of our students can continue to come to school each day and learn in a safe learning environment.  Well done to so many students in our school community who show us their best each and every day!

Many of the events on the school calendar towards the end of year will celebrate the time that our Grade 6 students have spent with us at LPS.  The school community looks forward to sharing these moments with the Grade 6s which I know will bring about mixed feelings for our students.  We are also busy preparing our newest students for when they start Kindergarten with us next year.  We welcome all new families to our school community and look forward to developing strong home/school relationships over the coming years.

Good luck and thank you to all our students who will be representing our school in the last few weeks of school, whether it be as a member of a sports team, the Triathlon, Champions Swimming Carnival or performing in one of our end of year music assemblies! And to our wider school community, LPS staff and students look forward to welcoming you all to the many school events we are hosting between now and the end of the year.
