On Friday 13th September 5/6A will be visiting Woolworths supermarket, taking the Fresh Food Tour, before heading to the Glenorchy Library to take part in S.T.E.A.M activities. The bus will be leaving at 9:30am and returning to school at 1:00pm. Students can still order lunch from the canteen on this day.
4A and 4B will be visiting Goulburn Street Primary School on Tuesday 10th September. The grade 3/4 students from Goulburn St have been researching historical figures and will be presenting their findings as wax models. The bus will be leaving at 9:10 so students will need to be in class ready to go at 9am. Please
Both Prep A and B will be walking down to Simmons Park on Tuesday 10th September at 9am as part of their HaSS studies around Special Places. Students will need to wear full school uniform, appropriate footwear and bring a warm jacket in case of inclement weather.
Kinder Wombats and Kinder Possums recently visited Frank restaurant. This exciting culinary experience was part of their inquiry into fruits and vegetables. Students got to witness the preparation of food in a commercial setting and enjoy some fine dining. Thank you to Mr Heffernan for welcoming our Kinders to your restaurant!
Grade 2A and 2B got to visit the Sustainability Centre at Mt Nelson on Thursday to participate in a range of learning experiences. Students engaged in independent investigations around the centre, powering energy through cycling, looking at animal models, and the creative way every day objects can be turned into wondrous art. They put on gumboots and trekked through the bush to find water. Here we searched with recycled materials to find what we could in the water. They built on already established huts and worked as collaborators to problem solve. Students learnt more about human impact on on our environment and were challenged to think critically about how we can have a positive impact. It was a BIG day!
Thank you to the parents that were able to join us and to the parents who couldn't, we hope you heard about it!
