Let's get to know her a little better:
1) How long have you worked at LPS? I have been here since Term 3 last year, so almost 1 year!
2) Why did you choose teaching? I love working with children and felt the best way to do this every day was to become a teacher.
3) What is your favourite picture book? Possum Magic by Mem Fox
4) Do you have any hidden talents? I love to sing! This may or may not have been showcased across the PA one day not long ago!!
5)What do you think is your greatest strength? I feel that I am a great listener. People feel confident and comfortable to talk openly to me about different things.
6) What is your favourite song to sing along to? Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen
7) What was your first job? My first job was at a service station pumping petrol.
8) What advice would you give your 10 year old self? To celebrate things with your friends and family. Try not to put pressure on yourself to be someone you think everyone else wants you to be!
9) Do you collect anything? Not really! The most I collect these days are my children’s the dirty clothes off the floor!!!
10) If you were an animal, what would you be? I’d love to be a giraffe! I’m not a tall person so I’d love to be tall even just for a day.
11) Do you have a bucket list? If so, what’s next? I don’t have a bucket list but I don’t have the dream of travelling to Europe but that won’t be for quite some time!
12) Best relaxation tip? Close your eyes, breathe deeply and maybe catch some shut-eye while you can.
13) Tell us about your favourite moment in teaching? I have many of them but most are when students have that lightbulb moment.  The expression on their face is amazing and to know that you were a part of that is very rewarding.
14) What new skill would you like to learn? I’d love to learn how to knit or should I say re-learn.  I remember being taught this in Grade 8 but that was quite some time ago.
15) Name something that makes you happy. Spending time with my children and my friends makes me feel happy and helps me realise how lucky I am.
16) Do you play a sport? I used to play Netball but haven’t for 3 years now.
17) Do you have any pets? I have the Leaf Stick Insects from Prep White at home at the moment. They are an awesome pet to have, very low maintenance.
18) What is your best advice for dealing with worry? That it’s ok to be worried sometimes as long as you don’t let it consume you.
19) What do you want people to know about teaching? That it is a very rewarding job but also a very tough one. I spend many of my non-working hours thinking about my job and how best to support the students at our school.
20) Do you have a favourite saying/mantra? Don’t sweat the small stuff!
