WHOLE SCHOOL REFLECTION
We have been back at school for 5 weeks already and it has been amazing to see new teachers, students and families to our school settle in and get on with the important job of teaching and learning. We had a great turn out for our Welcome BBQ where our students led their families in tours of classroom while talking about the important routines of their learning environment and also showing off the work they are proud of!

Now that we have settled back into school for 2021, I thought it would be a good idea to find out what Lindisfarne Learners thought was the best thing about being back at school:
Sid B – Meeting my new teachers!
Ivy G - That I got to see all my friends and my new teacher and be in a new classroom.
Ellie F – Because I got to see my friends and I can make new ones.
Maisy B – When I get to play at Henley Tower.
Ryan B – Coming and finding my friends again and making a new best friend.
Lihwa W – Seeing my friends because its been a long time, seeing my new teacher and doing my work.
Bayley R – It was getting boring and annoying at home with my brothers so I’m happy to be back!
Isla J – Seeing my friends and playing with them. We get to do things altogether.
Archer B – Having new teachers and learning new things.
Mrs Innis – The best thing has been experiencing the positive culture across our whole school, where student learning is considered above all else.
Thank you to all our families, who have worked hard to make sure the transition back to school has been smooth for their children. We really appreciate the partnership we have with you in trying to provide the best teaching and learning environment for our students.
The School Association has also gotten underway for this year and welcomes all members of the school community to their meetings. Please see their section of this newsletter for more information on how to get involved and add your voice to the decision making body of the parent community. The School Association recently posted a Skills Survey on their Facebook page asking for interested parents to please complete. Check it out below:
We are thrilled to welcome a new member to the Lindisfarne Primary School community, Ruby Grace Sheehan. Congratulations to Mrs Sheehan and her husband Adam, who are absolutely in love with her. We can’t wait to me her!
Warm regards,

Home Reading Parent Information Night
On Tuesday 16th March, 7-7:30pm there will be a parent information session for home reading with a focus on students in prep – Grade 2. We will host a second session for grades 3-6 later in the year. The session will:
- unpack some strategies to support your child at home with their reading,
- provide more information about home reading and;
- offer some suggestions for reluctant home readers.
Next week we will provide a link to a parent survey on Facebook and SeeSaw about home reading. If there is something specific you would like mentioned at the session please comment on the survey.
Please note: this is a general information session. If you would like specific information regarding your child please make an appointment to meet with their classroom teacher.
