FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Good afternoon parents,
Apologies for flooding your inbox with communication this week. I had intended to do a 'mini' Newsletter last Friday afternoon, however other priorities came into play so I didn’t quite get there!
We are so proud of the way our community supported us yesterday by keeping children home. We had 31 students of permitted workers attend, and they had a wonderful day accessing their learning from the DoE ‘Learn at Home’ Website, with the support of onsite teachers. Thankfully, we welcomed all students back today and except for all adults wearing masks, it is business as usual.
We are currently well into the process of forming class structures and groupings for 2022. You may be aware that students have all submitted their five friend preferences, and we always guarantee that they will be in a class with at least one friend from their list. If you have any concerns or requests about your children moving into 2022 can you please email me at kel.innis@education.tas.gov.au before C.O.B Wednesday, 27th October. We will not be accepting any teacher requests, however, we understand that parents sometimes have concerns about friendship issues, so I will need these in writing please.
If you have been onsite this term, you would have noticed the enormous amount of work that has been completed in our playground. Brett and his team (Granton Excavations) have done an amazing job of creating new pathways, fencing, and seating, as well as many new retaining walls to secure and make our embankments much safer. We have also have removed some trees from the courtyard, along with some of the old shade structures which no longer serve a purpose (please note that all trees that have been removed were posing a threat to either student safety or underground works). We will be continuing to redevelop the courtyard over the summer holidays, influenced by student voice as well as making it more conducive to our play-based learning pedagogy.

Warm regards,
Kel Innis
