From the (Assistant) Principal

It is always a surprise when March arrives so suddenly. The hot weather is staying around and it is great to see everyone remembering to keep their hats on and keep well hydrated.

Thank you to all the families who were able to make it to our Meet and Greet session on Wednesday 20th Feb. It is an opportunity for our staff to share what routines and expectations look like across our school and celebrate the learning that your children are achieving each and every day. There were lots of engaging parent discussions and lots of questions explored and answered. What a great way to join together in the partnership of education. Thank you also to the School Association for organising and running the BBQ.

Reminder: We are an allergy aware school

To ensure the safest possible environment for all our students, parents and carers of students are asked not send nuts, nut products and eggs to school and that hand washing after eating is routine practice.
The sharing of food and drink is discouraged – each student eats their own food and consumes their own drink and are asked not to purchase food from the canteen for other students.   All students are encouraged to place uneaten food back into their lunch box and take it home with them, which will minimise the risks of exposure.
Please ensure if you are choosing to send something to be shared at school as part of your child’s birthday celebration that you include a list of ingredients with the offered treat. Students who have specific dietary requirements value this information and may choose instead to bring their own alternative which can be kept in the classroom for these ‘sometimes food’ occasions.
On behalf of all the LPS staff, we genuinely appreciate your support in assisting us to care for all the students by reducing the risk of allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, in our school community.
A final recognition must go to our newly elected SRC executives:
President – Toby Scott
President – Lily Absolom
Vice President – William Green
Vice President – Ariellah Smith
We are looking forward to your leadership of the SRC as we move our school forward into 2019 and beyond.
I hope all have a restful weekend.

Warm Regards,
Beth Vince
