WHOLE SCHOOL REFLECTION
Good afternoon familes,
The cold weather has arrived and temperatures are likely to continue their descent. Teachers and auxiliary staff are doing an excellent job of keeping classrooms at a comfortable temperature, but please remember to pack warm jumpers and jackets for outside play. This will be particularly important for students in Years 3-5 when we move into our Water Safety Program later in the term.
The Lindisfarne Primary School Association is a great way for parents and community members to be involved in school life and to make a positive impact for our students. The School Association had their Annual General Meeting recently and there are a variety of positions still available. If you would like to get involved with the School Association in any capacity, please contact the school office and ask to speak to Shae. The more the merrier!
Students in Years 3 and 5 have been undertaking NAPLAN Assessments over the previous fortnight and have done an excellent job. This was their first encounter with NAPLAN for both Year Groups, as NAPLAN was not held when the current Year 5 students were in Year 3 due to COVID. Great work guys!
As you would be aware, reporting to families looks different in 2022. This Term, parents will receive a mid-year assessment for their child’s learning against the new 9-Point Scale that adds further detail to the previous A-E system. There will also be an opportunity at the end of the Term to book in for a Parent/Teacher Conference. More detailed information about both of these elements will be sent home shortly.
School has been undertaking some repairs and upgrades to the plumbing outside the Admin Building that has required the walkway from the Loatta Gate to the ECE Courtyard to be blocked off. I appreciate the inconvenience this causes for students and parents, and I appreciate the support that has been shown by all. The works are drawing towards an end and will hopefully not continue too much longer. Thanks again for everyone’s patience on this.
Our Launch Into Learning Program is now able to run on-site again. This is exciting news and Miss Purdie and Ms Brown are running sessions at school every Friday Morning. Bookings are essential for these but there are spaces available. If you would like further information, please feel free to contact Miss Purdie or Ms Brown and booking information is on the School’s Facebook page and further details are within this newsletter.
Kind regards,
