Our Grade 3-6 students displayed fantastic sportsmanship, resilience and kindness at our recent Athletics Carnival. Thank you to the students from Rose Bay High School who came to support our carnival by marshalling, timing and encouraging our students to give their all. Congratulations to GORDON on winning the House competition!
Student wellbeing is important to us at Lindisfarne Primary. This week our Grade 4-6 students are participating in a Student Wellbeing Survey that all Tasmanian primary students take part in. We use the data collected from this, along with our School Satisfaction Survey, (completed later in the year), to ensure that student voice is included in future decisions and planning for our school. If you have any questions about this please see the attached letter that came home with Grade 4,5 & 6 students last week:
I am very pleased to report that now all of our classes are connected to the communication app ‘Seesaw’. Seesaw is a simple way for teachers and students to record what's happening in the classroom and share it with our parent community. Seesaw also gives students a place to document their learning, be creative and learn how to use technology. If you haven’t signed up to you child’s class account yet please see your classroom teachers for instructions how.
School photo day is on Wednesday 25th March. Envelopes with ordering instructions have been sent home with students. Please return envelopes by Monday 23rd March, even if ordering online. Each student has a unique ordering code on their envelope.
Family envelopes/ replacement ordering codes are available from the school office upon request.
On Tuesday 17th March we will be travelling to the Domain Athletics track for the SPSSA Division B Athletics Carnival. Students will need to have their lunch, drinks, any snacks they may need, sports clothing and sunscreen for the day. Our team will be seated in the grandstand according to our lane number. All of our team will be expected to be with our supervising staff in the grandstand when they are not competing.
The school will supply a sport top for each student on the day. Parents are asked to launder and return the top as soon as possible after the Carnival.
Parents and friends are welcome to come along on the day however they are required to pay an entrance fee of $4.
We do require some parent assistance at the carnival. Events are run by teachers from our school, and parents are needed to assist those teachers in the running of that event. If you are able and prepared to give some of your time, please return the note below to the school office or contact the office on 62439232. A current Registered Working with Vulnerable People card is required for our volunteers.
The School Association AGM will be held on Tuesday 31st March at 6:30pm in the 3 Blue classroom (Mrs Flude/Mrs Palmer's classroom). All are welcome to attend. If you would like to nominate for a committee position, please contact or visit the school office for a Nomination form. Even if you aren't nominating, we would love to see new faces and hear some fresh ideas, so please come along!
Our School Association has some awesome events coming up. Details for each event will be advertised closer to their dates so keep an eye out in future newsletters.
The first event coming up is the Easter raffle. Raffle books will be coming home with students on Friday 13th March. Students are invited to wear free dress on Friday 27th March and bring along a donation of an easter egg or a gold coin.
