What an incredibly busy term we have had. Every year it surprises me how much we manage to jam pack into Term 4 and this Term has not been an exception. Our students are such talented, well-rounded individuals and I love hearing about how they achieve and improve across such a wide range of academic and extracurricular activities. We use this Newsletter, Seesaw and Facebook, along with our Assemblies, to showcase individuals and groups at LPS and I would like to thank everyone who has provided photos and stories to help us to do this thoughout the year.
This week we celebrated our music students with a wonderful range of performances from our Junior/Senior Choirs and the Brass, Marimba and Recorder groups. It was amazing to see how their confidence and talent has grown since the beginning of the year. We also celebrated (through song!) a very special member of our staff, Mrs Amanda Brown. Amanda is leaving us at the end of this year after 15 years of dedicated service to our school. We have been so lucky to have her develop and teach our music program for such a long time and we hope her new school knows how lucky they are.
We also farewell Mrs Linda Flude, Mrs Teresa Lewinski, Miss Jade O’Neal, Mr Ryan Thomas and Miss Lyndsey Colls at the end of this year. Mrs Flude has been here for 11 years and has had a massive impact on the diverse range of grades she has taught here and I am grateful for the individual interest she has taken in every single one of her students. Mrs Lewinski has been a valued team member and teacher over the past 12 years. Teresa began in the Primary part of the school but has most recently taught in the Early Childhood area. I would like to thank Teresa for her flexibility and her kind and caring nature with our students. Miss Jade has been a wonderful ‘first teacher’ for a lot of our students and I will miss her honest and witty sense of humour. Mr Thomas and Miss Colls were here only for this year but they both had a very big impact through their genuine approach to teaching. We wish them all the best for their respective future endeavours and hope that they have enjoyed their time at LPS. Mr Peter Stephens is also taking Long Service Leave at the beginning of next year.
Moving forward I am pleased to let you know that our staffing for 2023 has been finalised.

Your children’s class groups will be coming home with their reports in Week 9. Students will have the opportunity to meet their new teachers in their new classrooms on December 20th at our Step-Up afternoon. We work hard to create class groups that are balanced in social and emotional maturity as well as academically. We ensure every child moves into their new group with at least one person they have named up as being a friend. We take family input into account, especially around separations that will support student well-being and learning. We strive to build collaborative grade-based teaching teams, who will know your child well and support them to meet their full potential. Please know that we do work hard on these placements to get the best for all of our learners.
ABC GIVING TREE FREE DRESS DAY
Students had a brilliant day competing at the 2023 School Triathlon on Friday 2 December. Well done!
LPS ASSOCIATION CHRISTMAS RAFFLE
Congratulations to the 6 students who represented our school in the Champions Swimming Carnival last Tuesday.
2023 BOOK PACK/INFORMATION COLLECTION DAYS
Monday 16 January 9:00am – 3:00pm
Tuesday 17 January 9:00am – 3:00pm
Wednesday 18 January 9:00am – 3:00pm
Thursday 19 January 9.00am – 6.00pm
Friday 20 January 9:00am – 3:00pm

Kindergarten $200
Prep-Grade 6 $300
The School Association approved a $20 increase for levies for next year. The levies have not been increased since 2019. Levies are payable once you receive your DoE invoice at the middle of Term 1. Payment plans are available. Please talk to our friendly office staff to arrange these.
If your child currently has medication at school, please plan to collect it from the office next Wednesday, 14 December.
Please also start to plan for 2023.
If your child requires asthma or allergy medicine, or requires an action plan, please organise a GP visit to get these updated before school starts in Feb 2023.

OUTSTANDING LEVIES, CAMP AND BRASS FEES
With 2023 looming fast it would be much appreciated if all 2022 amounts be cleared before the end of the year.
It is highly recommended, if anyone with any outstanding amounts could please start to make weekly/fortnightly payments to endeavour to clear the debt.
You are able to do this yourself online or call the friendly office staff and they can process payments over the phone each week/fortnight.
It would be wonderful for everyone to start 2023 fresh.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me at libby.ashlin@education.tas.gov.au or phone on 6243 9232. Thank you for your co-operation.
Reader's Club is being inundated with enthusiastic readers. We would love the help of additional volunteers in providing the opportunity for all students to read aloud. If you can spare some time, come and join us in the library between 8.30-9.00 on Mondays and Wednesdays. It is a great way to start the day! All volunteers are required to have a Working with Vulnerable People Card and be Fully Vaccinated.
A FRIENDLY REMINDER
We have noticed an increasing number of parents using the turning circle to park or drop children off in the morning and afternoon collection times.
Our carpark is for staff use only
Please make sure that you obey all Tasmanian Road Laws when parking around the school. Be mindful not to park over driveways, or too close to corners and crossings.
Kinder enrolments for our 2023 classes are now open for children born in 2018. Children must either be living within the Lindisfarne Primary School Intake Area or be a younger sibling of an already enrolled student at Lindisfarne Primary School.
Pre-Kinder is for all students who have been accepted into Kinder for 2022 and has now started, all enrolment forms need to be returned as soon as possible.
If you have a child ready for Kinder next year, please phone the school office on 6243 9232 to get the enrolment process started.
Students who are COVID positive or close contacts can attend a school site if they are well and have no symptoms, with the exception of Support Schools.
Close contacts should test immediately if they become aware of symptoms and stay home. COVID cases are recommended to avoid contact with vulnerable people, and are therefore not to attend Support Schools for 7 days from testing positive. This includes students, staff, parents, carers and visitors.
COVID positive or close contact staff, visitors and secondary school students who are well and choose to attend a school site, should wear a face mask indoors on and off school sites for 7 days. Primary school students who are COVID positive or close contacts can choose to wear a mask but are not expected to.
Students and visitors are not required to advise the school that they are a close contact or COVID positive.
For more information, visit the Tasmanian Government Coronavirus website.

Dear Students and Families,
I know it is hard to believe, but Summer is here!
Please remember from Thursday 1 September until the end of the school year, to have your hat at school every day. You will need to wear it when you are outside.
Department of Education Sun Protection Policy - This policy aims to ensure staff, students and children maintain a healthy UV balance all year round.
Being SunSmart in Tasmania means using sun protection when UV levels reach 3 and above, this occurs from September to April. This means implementing sun protection measures from the beginning of the school year until the end of April and again from the beginning of September until the end of the school year.
BOWEN ROAD PRIMARY SCHOOL BOOK DONATIONS
We have two main channels of communication here at LPS, Schoolzine and Seesaw. Schoolzine is where we issue things like this newsletter, important information relating to COVID and other essential communications that need your actions or attention.
Seesaw is an important communication tool that all of our teachers use to interact and share learning with families. We encourage parents to interact with staff through this portal and talk with you children about what we have shared. This is monitored during school hours. Please ensure you obtain the QR code from your children’s teacher and sign up to receive regular updates on their learning and photos of them engaging in lots of different activities.
If you have any urgent information that you need to give your children, the teacher or the office please call 6243 9262 as email communication can not be guaranteed with a prompt response.
If you have a child who attends before or after school care and they are sick or away, please remember to contact Clarence City Council on 6217 9610 to let them know your child won’t be attending. After School Care is a separate service that is not provided by Lindisfarne Primary School.
LUNCH ORDER SERVICE - BAMBINI BITES
QKR ONLINE CANTEEN ORDERING
Bambini Bites works in association with CBA Bank/Mastercard and uses their online school canteen ordering system for the convenience of schools, parents and students called QKR which can be downloaded to all Apple phones/IPAD’s and Android devices.
QKR allows parents/staff to log into the app and place lunch order two (2) weeks in advance any time until 9.00pm the night prior the lunch is required.
Unfortunately, if you miss this cut off time, we are unable to assist with late orders. We recommend that you place your order as early as possible QKR sometimes struggles near cut off times due to the high usage of all users Australia wide. This cut off time has been put into place to allow our kitchen staff sufficient time to prepare food for all lunch orders.
WHAT TO DO IF MY CHILD IS SICK AND NOT ATTENDING SCHOOL AND I HAVE PLACED AN ORDER VIA QKR
We understand that little people can become unwell at the drop of a hat, to assist parents and families with this we request a text message to advise.
- Parents MUST send text message ONLY to 0400 948 649
- Copy of order receipt is required which will include the reference number for the order placed
- We will need confirmation of your child's name, school, class & ordered items.
We will process a credit to your QkR account within 3-5 business days that can be use in the future..
This process will take effect from Monday 27th June.
All order cancellations received after 7:45 AM will not be issued with a credit as after this time we will have prepared these items for lunch service.
We are happy for orders to be moved to other children or parents to collect from the canteen at lunchtime on the day of order fulfillment instead.
Please note orders for Sushi can not be refunded as these are ordered from a third party supplier and are ordered in advance.
These orders need to be cancelled via QkR prior to order cut off times (sushi specific) which is a day prior to normal order cut off times.
