From the (Assistant) Principal
It is always a surprise when March arrives so suddenly. The hot weather is staying around and it is great to see everyone remembering to keep their hats on and keep well hydrated.
Thank you to all the families who were able to make it to our Meet and Greet session on Wednesday 20th Feb. It is an opportunity for our staff to share what routines and expectations look like across our school and celebrate the learning that your children are achieving each and every day. There were lots of engaging parent discussions and lots of questions explored and answered. What a great way to join together in the partnership of education. Thank you also to the School Association for organising and running the BBQ.
As you would be aware, poor weather forced us to postpone our Athletics Carnival. The new date for the carnival is this TUESDAY 5TH MARCH. The times outlined in the program below will remain the same.
Kinder to Grade 2 students - don't forget to bring along a soft toy for the Teddy Bear race!
All students from Kinder up have been assigned to a House and are invited to wear their House colours - Gordon (red), Natone (blue) or Sherwood (green). Please remember to be SunSmart when choosing what to wear! If you are unsure of which House your child is, contact the office. (Siblings will always be in the same House).
Students need to have their hats on Tuesday, as well as sunscreen applied and drink bottles filled with water.
Parents/carers are welcome to come along to cheer or help out on the day.
We have received several complaints from local residents regarding how parents are parking when collecting/dropping children off at school. If you cannot find a LEGAL place to park, you will need to drive around the block and wait until one becomes available. Parking zones are clearly signed on all surrounding streets, so there is no excuse for parking in 'No Parking' zones, bus stops or over driveways. There is also STRICTLY no parking anywhere inside the front gates unless you are a staff member.
There are several safe spots for students to wait inside the gates after school. Please talk to your child about where they could wait should you need extra time to park safely and legally.
Congratulation to the following students who were elected by their peers to the Student Representative Council:

Our Grade 5/6 Football and Netball teams had a "ball" playing against Bellerive Primary this week. All students represented LPS wonderfully and should be proud of the sportsmanship they showed.
If you'd like to head along to watch the upcoming games, please see the roster below. LPS football home games will be played at Geilston Bay Oval #2 (behind Lindisfarne North Primary School).
The next assembly will be next Friday, 8th March. Our new SRC will be hosting and Prep B, 4A and Annette from the CBA will be sharing.
In previous years, ICT agreements have been printed and sent home for parents to sign. This year they can be found and completed below or on the SZapp, under the Forms and Doncuments tile on the Home screen. Parents are encouraged to go through the agreement with their children before signing electronically and submitting it easily via the button at the end of the form.
Please contact the office if you have any issues completing the form, or if you have any questions about the agreement.

MEETINGS:
The first meeting of the School Association was held on Wednesday night and it was wonderful to see so many new faces attending.
The next meeting will be on Monday 25th March in the Library at 7pm. This will be the AGM and all committee roles will be voted on. As always, parents/carers and LPS community members are invited to attend.
EASTER RAFFLE:
Raffle books will be coming home with students next Friday for the School Association's annual Easter Raffle. A free dress day will be held in the coming weeks, with students asked to bring along a gold coin or donation of Easter Eggs. Prizes drawn Wednesday 10th April.
10.15am - 11.00am - Grade 1, 2 & 3.
11.30am - 12.15pm - Kinder & Prep
School Photo day this year will be on Wednesday 20th March for all Kinder to Grade 3 classes, then on Friday 29th March for all Grades 3-6 classes. This is due to SPSSA Athletics Carnival being held on the 20th also. Sibling photos will be taken on the morning of the 20th.
Envelopes will come home in the next couple of weeks and parents will notice that our new photographers, Leading Image, offer a variety of photo packages and payment options. Online ordering is available and is the preferred method.
Our canteen is up and running for 2019, and will again be open on Thursdays and Fridays only.
This year, lunch orders must be placed via the Qkr! app. Cash sales will be accepted for counter sales only.
Term 1 menu is shown below. You may have noticed an increase in some of our prices. This is due to supplier increases and is unavoidable if we'd like the canteen to remain a viable option for lunches. We thank you for your understanding.
If you are able to volunteer any time in the canteen this year, please let the office staff know.
